Kate Beales is a British writer, theatre-maker, and facilitator whose debut novel, Broken Horses, was published by Linen Press in 2025, fulfilling at 60 a lifelong ambition to become a published novelist; set in 1920s Patagonia and inspired by the real workers' uprising La Patagonia Rebelde, it was shortlisted for the Eric Hoffer Award. She began her theatrical career at Germany's National Theatre before touring internationally with the English Shakespeare Company, and has since led theatre and storytelling projects worldwide with refugees, veterans, and communities in transition, taught at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, and worked as a mediator and conflict coach. Today she leads storytelling initiatives for veterans with The Drive Project, works with refugees through Routes for Women, and teaches storytelling to business leaders internationally.
