I Nyoman Darma Putra is a Professor and Head of the Doctoral Programme in Cultural Studies at the Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Udayana, Bali. He completed his undergraduate, master's, and doctoral studies at Universitas Udayana, the University of Sydney, and the University of Queensland respectively. He has written several books, including A Literary Mirror: Balinese Reflections on Modernity and Identity in the Twentieth Century, published by KITLV/Brill in 2011. His book Heterogenitas Sastra di Bali, published in 2021, received the Best Literary Essay Book Award from Indonesia's Language Development and Language Cultivation Agency. Since 2011, he has served as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Bali Studies, a Scopus-indexed journal ranked SINTA 1.
