Adrian Vickers is an Australian Professor Emeritus at the University of Sydney and a specialist in the cultural history of Southeast Asia and the Pacific. In 2014, he was elected a Fellow of the Australian Academy of the Humanities. He is the author of widely acclaimed books and articles on Southeast Asian history and art, including A History of Modern Indonesia, Bali: A Paradise Created, Balinese Art, and the award-winning Pearl Frontier, a history of the Australian and Eastern Indonesian pearling industry. Some of his works have been translated into six languages. Vickers holds a PhD and is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of the Humanities.
