Join us for the July edition of Indus Supper Clubs Open Mic Night. This is a special one, as first we're chatting with Janet De Neefe on all things food, festival and her life. Janet will be in conversation with Michelle Neeling from 17.30 to 19.00. The Open Mic will run from 19.00 to 20.30 with Namal Siddiqui. Join us for this special and final edition of the season until we return after the 2026 Festival.

Namal Siddiqui is a Pakistani poet, born and raised in the United Arab Emirates. Siddiqui curates the international programme at the Ubud Writers & Readers Festival and is currently preparing a poetry collection for publication. Her work explores themes of multicultural identities, decolonisation, and nature. Siddiqui’s poetry is greatly influenced by her travels through mountaineering and her fascination with the poetic and cultural traditions of the South Asian region.

Namal Siddiqui adalah seorang penyair asal Pakistan yang lahir dan besar di Uni Emirat Arab. Saat ini, Siddiqui mengkurasi program internasional di Ubud Writers & Readers Festival dan tengah menyiapkan kumpulan puisinya untuk diterbitkan. Karyanya mengeksplorasi tema identitas multikultural, dekolonisasi, dan hubungan manusia dengan alam. Puisi-puisi Siddiqui banyak dipengaruhi oleh perjalanan pendakiannya serta ketertarikannya pada tradisi puitis dan budaya di kawasan Asia Selatan.

Melbourne-born Janet DeNeefe, Founder & Director of Ubud Food Festival and Ubud Writers & Readers Festival, has lived in Bali for more than three decades. Her latest book is Bali: Food of My Island Home, following her memoir Fragrant Rice. She is also the owner of Casa Luna, Indus Restaurant, and Honeymoon Guesthouse and Bakery in Ubud.

Janet DeNeefe kelahiran Melbourne, Pendiri & Direktur Ubud Food Festival dan Ubud Writers & Readers Festival, telah tinggal di Bali selama lebih dari tiga dekade. Buku terbarunya adalah Bali: Food of My Island Home, mengikuti memoarnya Fragrant Rice. Dia juga pemilik Casa Luna, Indus Restaurant, dan Honeymoon Guesthouse and Bakery di Ubud.
