
Xu Xi 許素細is one of Hong Kong's leading English writers and author of seventeen books, including five novels, ten prose collections, one memoir, and one co-authored textbook. She has also edited four anthologies of Hong Kong writing. Her novel That Man in Our Lives was published in 2016 by C&R Press, followed by the essay collection This Fish Is Fowl: Essays of Being, University of Nebraska, 2019. She then co-authored The Art and Craft of Asian Stories: A Writer's Guide and Anthology with Robin Hemley, Bloomsbury, 2021. Her newest title is the fiction collection Horizon: Hong Kong Selected Stories, released by Gaudy Boy, New York, 2026. A diehard transnational, Xu long inhabited the flight path connecting New York, Hong Kong and the South Island of New Zealand. She now divides her time between New York State and the rest of the world.
